Eric GardnerEric Gardner has worked for the City of Franklin since 2005. He began with the City as the Assistant City Engineer and was promoted to the Director of Engineering in 2007. Prior to working for the City, Eric worked as a consultant for seven years, mainly doing transportation design for clients such as the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He is a professional engineer (P.E.) and a certified professional in erosion and sediment control (CPESC). He serves as the P.E. Review Chair for the Nashville Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Eric grew up in Southern Indiana. He graduated from the University of Evansville in 1998 with a degree in Civil Engineering. After college, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee. He bought his first house in Franklin, Tennessee in 1999 and now lives in Fieldstone Farms with his wife, Jenny and their two daughters, Grace and Lyla. Jenny teaches preschool at Harpeth Hills Church of Christ where they attend church. Grace is in 1st Grade at Hunters Bend Elementary and Lyla attends preschool at Harpeth Hills.

Eric played football, baseball, basketball, and track in high school and played varsity football in college. He now spends his free time (when he can finally get away from work) playing sports, hunting and fishing, and playing with his kids. He is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and loves to watch and talk about all sports.
