The Engineering Department and the Capital Improvement Division are responsible for the implementation of, or coordination of, the engineering studies, conceptual plans, and construction plan designs, as well as rights-of-way and easement acquisitions for most of the public infrastructure improvements for the City. The majority of the study and design projects are contracted to various consulting firms. The negotiation for and the recommendation of these engineering services contracts is the Engineering Department’s responsibility.
