Responsibilities, generally, include answering 911 telephone calls; data entry; dispatching police officers & firefighters by two-way radio transmitter & EMS by telephone; processing information from incoming calls; & providing for officer safety. Must be able to multi-task, (i.e., carry on conversations via telephone, in person & by radio simultaneously.) Will be working second or third shift & weekends.
Minimum Qualifications: HS diploma (or GED); 21 years of age; certified by the TBI within six months of employment; 1-2 years of dispatching and/or clerical experience. Must meet all State standards for public safety communications officers including U.S. citizenship; undergoing background investigation, polygraph exam & passing a physical including drug/alcohol screen; & having a record free from felony convictions and/or misdemeanors involving force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling or controlled substances.
Must pass a telecommunicator computer test, which simulates 911-dispatcher environment & measures ability to multi-task. Only applicants who pass test will be interviewed. $14.79/hour.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of three to five years of systems experience in Microsoft Applications. Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or Professional Certification, Microsoft training (MCSE) & GIS also preferred. Technical knowledge/skills should include Crystal Reports, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Microsoft SQL Report Writer, Database and SQL familiarity. Must have communication, analytical & problem-solving skills. Must possess a valid TN DL. $1,820/bi-weekly DOE/Q, plus benefits.

Firefighter
The City of Franklin is currently accepting applications for full-time firefighter positions with the Franklin Fire Department. Must work a 24 hours-on/48 hours-off shift (average 56 hours week), & live within 45-minute drive of Fire Department Headquarters within 6 months of employment.
