The Traffic and Transportation Division of the City of Franklin Engineering Department supports the Director of Engineering in the collection, analysis and maintenance of traffic, transportation and ITS Data. The Traffic and Transportation Division is also responsible for reviewing engineering criteria of various types of plans and related administrative work. Staff in the Traffic and Transportation Division reviews development plans for compliance with City Specifications, functions as a project manager for capitol improvement projects, and provides technical knowledge to City Staff, elected officials and the general Public.

The Traffic Operations Center subdivision supports the Director of Engineering in the collection, analysis and maintenance of traffic, transportation and ITS Data.

The Traffic/Transportation Engineer recommends Transportation Policy's for the City of Franklin pending Board of Mayor and Aldermen approval.
