Building and Neighborhood Services Customer Commitment

Our Goal

The Development Services team guides development in the City of Franklin to create a safe, healthy, high quality community that persists as a location of choice for residents, businesses, and guests.  We will do this through adherence to adopted codes, ordinances, guidelines and standards.

Our Approach

We strive to provide fair and consistent service to all customers through the following guidelines:

  • Interdisciplinary approach – efforts of multiple departments are coordinated to be “one voice” on behalf of the City
  • Communication to customers will be clear and predictable
    • Checklists to guide plan preparation
    • Comments on plan reviews
    • Deficiencies identified during inspections
  • Plan reviews and permit applications will be handled as quickly as possible and on a “first in, first out” basis
